The Future of Music Coalition and American Constitution Society for Law and Policy will host a "Policy Day" tomorrow in Washington, D.C. to "focus on the critical issues emerging in the Courts, Congress and at the Copyright Office" involving music. Unlike many industry panels, this one will be attended by policymakers, some of whom have an important decision to make regarding the new royalty rates that will bankrupt many prominent webcasters on May 15th.
Here's a full list of the main topics that will be addressed:
- Section 115 Copyright Reform and Music Licensing
- Digital Rights Management and Interoperability
- Internet Radio and Webcasting Rates
- Satellite Radio Mergers
- Network Neutrality and Media Ownership
Congressman Mike Doyle (D-Pennsylvania), Vice Chair of the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet, kicks things off at 10:10 AM EST, followed by these panels.
If you'd like to follow along in near-real-time, the FOMC will be live blogging the event here. Following that, archived audio and video webcasts will be available.
