Deana Molinaro's online children's book The Lonely Sea Monster is the ideal bedtime reading for the parent who wants to instill into their dainty progeny the proper morbid sensibilities. It ends approximately as you'd expect, but the writing is wry and clever, and really all children's books should end with little girls being gobbled up by sea monsters. It's what the Brothers Grimm intended before the wussification of the genre.
