Talk about a bookish band. Detroit's The High Strung is a terifically-upbeat garage rock group that was profiled last year on This American Life for being the first-ever band to conduct a tour of US libraries.
The trio is preparing to launch its second annual library tour next month in support of its new album, Get the Guests. The High Strung will play gigs at nearly 30 libraries over a three-month period. The shows include audience interaction in the form of collaborative improv songwriting. Bandmembers will follow performances by answering audience questions about their work. The shows are free; justmake sure your late fees are paid up first. Tour dates below:
