The Energy Tree from Yanko Design has an interesting take on promoting energy efficiency. It's a real tree connected to a microprocessor; it monitors your appliance usage, heating and cooling and recycling and feeds and waters the tree accordingly. If your not habits aren't environmentally friendly, the tree suffers, much like in the real world.
