Sundance Channel broadcasts the eco documentary “Art from the Arctic” tonight (9:35 p.m.) as part of The Green, their new Tuesday night block of environmental programming. The lineup kicks of at 9 p.m. with the weekly show “Big Ideas for a Small Planet,” this week featuring eco fashion designers like Linda Loudermilk.
Then it’s on to the Arctic for an hour-long chronicle of three voyages from Norway to the high Arctic undertaken by British filmmaker David Buckland. Writer Ian McEwan, photographer Alex Hartley and sculptors Max Eastley and Rachel Whiteread, among others, are aboard the schooner Nooderlicht to explore the pristine landscape, ponder the consequences of global warming and, yes, make art to raise awareness along the way.
