A few months ago, we casually mentioned performance artist and posthumanist Sterlarc and the ear he culture-grew and grafted to his arm.

But what's going on with that freakish ear stitched to his elbow now? Apparently, now that he's finally found a surgeon willing to do such a thing, the next step is to implant a microphone and then connect it to the Internet via a Bluetooth connection.

Flickr has some excellent images of the freaky elbow ear, including one of an anonymous surgeon pulling open Stelarc's skin and shoving it into the bleeding wound. Gorgeous, gruesome, ghastly stuff: I love weirdos like this.
