Just in time for all the celebrations surrounding the 30th anniversary of the original Star Wars, Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken weighs in June 17 with a special episode based on George Lucas’ space opera masterpiece. Judging from the trailer, it looks like this will be an instant stop-motion animation classic.
Creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich insert Lucas right into the action and were even able to get the director to voice his animated likeness. Other noteworthy voice actors include Conan O'Brien, Malcolm McDowell, Hulk Hogan and Robert Smigel.
Senreich, in a press release at starwars.com, says "It's a cliché to say but this is a dream come true. How many people can say that George Lucas let them play with his entire Star Wars universe and do Robot Chicken-like things to it?"
