In the late 1960's, Osamu Tezuka — manga and anime visionary, as well as the creator of Astro Boy — helped create a 26 part serial for Japanese television called Vampire, in which a "vampire" (really more of a cartoon werewolf) moves to Tokyo and becomes the assistant of none other than Tezuka himself.
What's really striking about the intro to the show is the fantastic mixture of animation techniques: traditional animation, stop-motion animation and time-lapse photography, all folded over another. The transformation from man to wolf is still effective; the disjointed meshing of the different animation techniques gives it an entirely otherworldly feel.
