Some children's car seats contain "several dangerous chemicals that can lead to serious health risks for children," according to the environmental group the Ecology Center.

Several of the car seats of "most concern" include models from popular company Graco, which also had models that were not considered dangerous. The Ecology Center tested 60 models of car seats.

Chemicals tested for include: bromine (associated with brominated flame retardants); chlorine (indicating the presence of polyvinyl chloride, or PVC and plasticizers); lead; and heavy metal allergens...

Yikes. That "new car seat smell" might be a warning sign.
