The newly completed Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, designed by Willem Jan Neutelings and Michiel Riedijk, cheekily looks at how our world is saturated with marketing and advertising images. The building is wrapped in colorful cast-glass panels that are imprinted with famous visuals from Dutch television: the justice minister riding his bicycle, Johan Cruyff scoring a goal. Using computer technology, the images were baked into the glass.
A slideshow of the building is available through the New York Times, time-lapse webcam footage of the construction can be seen here, and if you click on "Architectuur" in the upper righthand corner on this page you can check out the other proposals for the site that didn't make the cut.
