Beginning in late April, Russians angry over an international slight launched DDoS attacks against a bunch of government, bank and telecom websites in Estonia. Neither the techniques used nor the traffic generated were unprecedented, but because one of the (presumably zombified) PCs used in the packet floods belonged to a Russian government official, we in the press get to trot out our full arsenal of infowar hyperbole to describe Estonia's Slashdotting.
