You never expect it to happen, and it especially isn't something you think about when you are test driving a car as a journalist--but it does happen: today Autoblog said one of its bloggers was involved in the "death of a female pedestrian." Details were sketchy and nothing was said about who was at fault, so it is as likely as not that blogger Frank Filipponio was not at fault.

I doubt if car journalists are involved in accidents at a higher rate than the average driver, but they do happen. Just earlier this year, for example, a French journalist was killed in California while driving the 2007 Opel GT. I haven't gone looking around yet, but there are other tragic examples, and I hesitate to name the car models of the crash up I remember before double checking first. Feel free to communicate any that you know of.
