To be perfectly honest, the Chevy Volt that GM brought to New York did exactly what it did at its debut last January in Detroit: hold still and look cool. You can't drive it — in fact, you can't even get anyone to tell you exactly when it will hit the market, although we were assured yet again — by Bob Lutz, no less — that there should be a driveable Volt by the end of the year, albeit without those magic batteries we've all been praying for. Meanwhile, there was much gawking, testifying, and laying on of hands. Can I get a witness?
