For those who don't leave home without first checking MapQuest, you can now have the directions automatically sent to your car. Research your trip on MapQuest and pick the route that is best for you, and then it will be loaded into GM’s OnStar system.
While this may seem a bit redundant since OnStar already provides turn by turn directions, I always feel more at ease after I see the online maps first to "learn" my trip. This new function eliminates having to ask OnStar for the directions and going through the relatively quick confirmation process to make sure the you have the directions right. Combining OnStar with MapQuest lets you be certain that you have the trip down pat before you get in the car. Just get in and go!
OnStar is rolling the service out this summer and will be available in all vehicles that include Turn-by-Turn Navigation by the end of the year.
