Debbie Foster's battle against RIAA lawyers continues; unfortunately for her, though, the judge in Capitol Records v. Debbie Foster granted the RIAA's confidentiality motion regarding attorney's fees and issued a protective order to keep fees related to the litigation under wraps.

Foster's attorney, Marilyn Barringer Thomson, had asked the judge to deny the RIAA's motion, which would have exposed the RIAA's legal fees to other RIAA defendants, the public at large, and the artists in whose name these lawsuits are ostensibly being brought.

Now, it appears the RIAA will not have to divulge what it's paying its lawyers, although it will still be responsible for Ms. Foster's attorney's fees -- an important precendent that means other wrongly-accused file sharing defendants could recoup fees from the labels as well.
