Give Apple its typical props for ease of use-no other media-streaming device on the market is so easy to set up and use. From the arrival of the UPS man to watching videos on our HDTV, it was just 10 minutes. Unfortunately, those videos just didn't look very good. We had an episode of Saturday Night Live from the iTunes Music Store, and on our 1080i screen the picture was blocky and blurred. It's a snap to get the content and get it over, but until Apple starts selling programming in hi-def, we'll stick with our DVR.

Great interface, seamless integration into iTunes if you've bought a lot of video from Apple. HDMI and optical audio outputs for high-end systems. Beautiful industrial design. Photos look amazing. Early reports indicate a high-hackablity quotient.

Video quality of Apple content is poor, especially for a device meant to work with HD screens. Doesn't play formats like DivX or Xvid. Apple remote a little limited for the job. 40GB hard drive can't sync large content libraries.
