A clever video editor operating the name ParkRidge47 has made national headlines in the last two weeks with a fairly clever remix of Apple's legendary "1984" commercial that recasts presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton in the role of Big Brother, ostensibly in support of Barack Obama's campaign. Obama's camp claim to have nothing to do with the attack, and some are even speculating that Republican operatives are behind the spot, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Is this another cleverly executed assassination from the politics of personal destruction?
Who cares? The real story is whether Apple CEO Steve Jobs will insist on YouTube yanking the spot. To see the video and find out what Steve's got to do with it, click through.

You see, Steve Jobs is, or at least was, an extremely close friend of Bill Clinton's. How close? Well, in 1998, Steve let Bill live in his spare mansion, Jackling House, in swanky Woodside, California whenever he was in the Bay Area. So I'd like to propose that this offers a perfect test for the strength of Steve's continued friendship with the Clintons. If Apple doesn't order a cease-and-desist, he's switched his allegiances to Obama. If the spot comes down, he's still tight with the Clinton dynasty. Either way, this is one well-put together fake ad. Love the logo, too.
