  • Earlier this week Google rolled out a new version of its Picasa Web Albums service. The update adds search functionality and easier sharing via e-mails, IMs and websites. Storage space has also been increased to 1GB with available paid storage options for up to 250GB.
  • Turkey lifted its YouTube ban yesterday.
  • Last week the RIAA announced that that instead of filing lawsuits against student downloaders, it would give them the option to pay a flat fee. At the time details were slim, but now 50 students from Ohio University are being told to pay $3,000 or else face a lawsuit.
  • More bad news for Yahoo. AT&T reportedly wants to renegotiate its longstanding deal with Yahoo. The telecom giant has been selling broadband DSL service under the joint AT&T-Yahoo brand name for five years.
