You just have to love Frank Gehry. As he ventures out to the desert to build the Abu Dhabi version of the Guggenheim, he's started a blog for the Guardian chronicling his adventures in steel buttresses.
"My Abu Dhabi adventure: I've just turned 78 and am about to design the biggest Guggenheim yet. Can I pull it off?" says the subject line for his first post. Skeptics aren't too sure if he can. While he's definitely been the darling of the architecture world, especially when it comes to institutional buildings, many wonder if he's simply regurgitating a single curved idea over and over (he gets into that a bit in his post).
Either way, the blog is sure to be an interesting insight into the famed architect's process. So far my favorite part is when his grumpy old man comes out as in this section:
zing!
Make sure you read the comments as well. They get pretty heated.
