We Make Money Not Art has an interesting Q&Awith installation artist Nirmala Shome.
Shome is working on* Trash This City*, a piece that will be shown at the All of the Above Gallery in Melbourne for only one night, March 30th.
For the past two-and-half months Shome has been building a cardboard model of a SimCity-like town. Visitors to the gallery will be free to manipulate and reconfigure the city, moving the buildings around, using markers to tag and graffiti the streets, and in the end destroying the capital. Video footage of what's happening on the floor of the gallery will be projected onto the gallery's walls.
