I was stunned into silent awe by the latest invention from mad sex scientist qDot. He figured out a quick hack to make the words in a Twitter feed control the vibration speed of a USB vibrator. This is even more delicious than it sounds at first. qDot mapped each letter's ASCII value to a vibration intensity level, so you can feel the vibrations change as each letter is processed. You literally feel the the words throbbing as you read them.
That is just sexy as hell. For anyone who has ever gotten wiggly while reading a lover's sweet somethings, this will make the wiggles even more, um, profound. qDot demoed the newly-coded software for me at a SXSW afterparty, using a Playstation Trance Vibrator game controller as the "vibrator." qDot had programmed the device to respond to the words coming down on the SXSW Twitter feed, so we were essentially converting conference crosstalk into a sex toy. "I'm raping the conference!" qDot exulted. "Actually, I think you're making the conference inadvertently have sex with you," I corrected. Needless to say, nearly every woman who passed by wanted to touch the device -- quickly dubbed "Clitter." (You can see qDot and I playing with it in the blurry picture above, taken by ttrentham.)
One tech blogger, however, was a little dubious: "I think I'd need a bit more power to get off," she opined after feeling the vibrations. Luckily, there is a silver-bullet style USB vibrator you can use with qDot's code, which might give your Twitter feed a bit more kick. Of course, all of qDot's code is free and open on his blog. Thank you, qDot, for making my dreams come true.
