It's 10:30 at night. I'm playing Rainbow Six: Vegas with a few friends. As we're clearing the courtyard in Dantes, I'm continually distracted by Mark Whalberg posing in the distance. That's because everywhere I turn there are "movie posters" for his upcoming flick Shooter (which I now know will hit theaters March 23rd).

Am I so distracted because I'm unaccustomed to seeing ads? Or am I just shocked that they're finally implemented? I'm not opposed, in principal, to studios creating new ways to monetize their content, but I find myself detesting each sighting -- even though they "blend" into the environment.

The really weird bit? My friends couldn't see the ads. One saw marquees for Dantes Casino. The other saw a blank wall. Perhaps I'm cursed.
