I've just fallen in love with Philips' Ambilight system, which I have hitherto derided as a pointless frippery bordering on riceage. Why the change of heart? Because I just saw this photo of an Ambilight home theater system, casting the cold and dehumanized vectorbeam glow of thermonuclear death, digitally derived from the brilliant and creepy nuclear wargame DEFCON.
