These two-paneled prints were intended to produced a 3D effect when viewed crosseyed, or via a stereoscope, and are one of the most common forms of surviving antique photographic prints.
I wish I had this one in person. It evokes a sort of wistful nostalgia that tugs at my poor sad guts.
