It was thought at the time that the herbs protected from contagion, but in fact it was more likely the rest of the ensemble that warded off pus splatter, fleas, and other plague vectors. I have informed my Unhallowed compatriots that we will be including a Plague Doctor amid the photographic or drawn illustrations for the book.
