I need a reality check. And when I turn to the ToM crew for that, you know the situation is dire. I have been listening to Journey's greatest hits album a bit. Well, a lot. I love that song where Steve Perry sings about how the "lights go down in the city." Also, I tear up at the song "Open Arms" (check out the live version above, with Perry's amazing 1981 outfit). Plus, "Streetlight People" (livin' just to find emotion/up and down the boulevard/in the niiiiiiiiiiiiiight)! So here's my question: Issomething wrong with me? Is Journey a band for the ages or just my own private problem? I'm having a hard time figuring out if their music is geniunely good or if I'm just nostalgic for what the lameass DJs played during slow dances when I was in the seventh grade.
