Honda will recall 45,335 Civic Hybrid sedans worldwide to fix an electrical defect that could cause a short circuit, stopping the engine and keeping it from restarting. 7,219 of the affected vehicles were sold in Japan, while 38,116 were sold overseas, mostly in the United States. All were manufactured between September 2005 and September 2006. Honda, which learned of the voltage converter malfunction from overseas reports, says it knows of no accidents related to the defect.
