The Economist reports that hospitals in China bracing for a baby boom because this year is not just the year of the pig -- which is already pretty cool -- it's the year of the Golden Pig. According to Chinese astrologers, the Golden Pig comes around every 600 years, and children born during this auspicious year will suffer neither financial nor health setbacks. In Korea, which uses the same lunar calendar as China, government officials are hoping that the Golden Pig will spur this nation to start breeding -- currently, South Korea has one of the lowest birthrates in the world.
