About a year ago I let my subscription lapse because Wired had become such a faint shadow of its former self. The stories were less engaging. The writing was of lower quality. The magazine was dumbed down. Ultimately, I was tired of asking myself every month, "why am I still reading this?". I had been a subscriber for quite a few years, and was dismayed to be forced into such a realization. The magazine simply wasn't worth anything to me.
Today, faced with a 30 minute wait for a drug prescription to be filled, I grabbed a copy and flipped through it. I have to say, my decision could not have been more on the mark. Your "redesign" has lowered the publication even further, on all counts. I could hardly believe how much Wired has descended, and degraded, since the last copy I saw. I don't know what you people are doing, but really, you should call it quits and close the doors. There is so little substance left, I found myself wishing I had picked up People magazine instead. And if you knew how I felt about People, you'd realize that's really saying something.
