I can think of many workplaces in France, the United States, or anywhere else in the world where people might be inclined to do themselves in. I have even worked at a couple. But at Renault's research and development hub? I mean, how bad could it be? Evidently, after a third employee within the space of a few months at Renault's Guyancourt development center site took his life last week, French investigators think the case at least merits a formal criminal investigation.

A spokeswoman confirmed that yes, the reports were true, but she wouldn't elaborate.

Supposedly, the employee wrote that problems at work caused him to take his life last week. An engineer jumped to his death from a fifth-story window of the main building in October, which several dozen people witnessed. Another employee recently attempted suicide.

Are four recent suicidal acts out of 12,000 employees just a statistical anomaly?
