Ford says it will add a voice-activated entertainment system to nine of its Ford and Lincoln car models. The system will allows you to voice-activate and control your MP3 players, iPods, and cell phones through a Bluetooth or USB link, says Ford, which is relying on Microsoft software for the system. Users can access their mobile phone or digital music player including genre, album, artist and song title via voice commands, Ford says.
Sync will debut in the 2008 Ford Focus, Fusion, Taurus, Edge, Taurus X, Explorer, and Sport Trac, and in the Lincoln MKX and MKZ. Saab offered a similar system a few years ago with very mixed results. We reserve judgment about whether the system will Sync or not until we've tried it.
