The product of a foul union betwixt motorcycle and sports car, the 2008 Can-Am Spyder Roadster is a three-wheeled monster right out of a "Philip K. Dick" movie, produced by Canadian motorcycle and snowmobile maker BRP.
Driven by the single rear wheel, the reverse trike gets its grunt from a Rotax 990 V-twin engine coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. It's got all the fancy modern features of a car, from traction control to power steering, and will be available in silver and yellow in the fall throughout North America.
A rollout in continental Europe is to follow next year, with worldwide penetration by 2010. No word on pricing.
