If you work for Bank of America and buy a hybrid, they'll give you $3,000 back — a perq that now applies to all 185,000-plus employees across the U.S. B of A announced today that it's expanding a pilot program introduced last June for employees living within 90 miles of three cities: Boston, Charlotte, and Los Angeles.

According to the announcement, "The program mirrors the Internal Revenue Service's hybrid vehicle tax credit program and applies toward a new hybrid vehicle as defined by the agency." B of A wants to roll out the program to non-U.S. workers as well.

This is the first time I've thought of Bank of America as a good place to work, and it has me wondering: What other corporate do-gooders are slinging cash to workers who buy eco-friendly cars? If there's a similar program at your workplace, I'd love to know about it.
