David_des_maris_1 In our second round of Ask A Scientist I'll be talking to NASA scientist David Des Marais. This, frankly, is pretty exciting because David is not only a prinicpal scientist at the Ames Research Center's Astrobiology institute, he's also one of the folks who contributed to the Mars Rover, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, and the Mars Science Laboratory missions. He's spent much of his working life studying lunar rocks, soils, meteorites, and geothermal gases. At AAAS, Marais will be discussing the habitability of Mars and, specifically, the possibility that life once inhabited the red planet's Gusev Crater.

So, it's on to you guys: got any questions about the next frontier in space exploration? Post 'em here and we'll see what David has to say when we chat later this week.
