You might have noticed that we didn't cotton too much to Steve Jobs' pro-teacher firing comments. So it was with great relish that I saw tonight on MacNN that the California Teachers Foundation announced its intention to inaugurate a new award in Jobs's honor, the "Rotten Apple," intended for the person who best embodies the need to think differently about education.
Jobs could escape the enduring infamy, but only if he apologizes or agrees to speak at the CFT's annual conference. Knowing Steve's usual unwillingness to change his mind? I think we have a new award that will stand for years to come. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
