WIRED has always been known for its leading edge design, and other magazines have been redesigned to follow your lead. Your new design delights by distancing WIRED from copy cats and by taking a giant step (some would say back) towards legibility. The new fonts are handsome without calling attention to themselves. The font sizes, leading and column width, all encourage reading rather than skimming (as we do on the Web). There is emphasis on content rather than white space. The editorial matter no longer competes with advertising (that was WIRED's biggest design problem). WIRED's new design is to be praised for its emphasis on content enhanced by, and not overwhelmed by, graphics. Well done.
