Any_key_3The morning reboot, bagel not included:

  • IBM has announced a new storage technology it calls “phase-change” memory. The prototype, developed by a consortium of companies led by IBM, is reportedly 500 times faster than flash memory devices and uses half the power.
  • The New York Times has added links to Digg, Facebook and Newsvine to all its free articles. According to the press release, the tool is labeled “share” and positioned with the e-mail and print tools.
  • The Listening Post blog reports that Creative Commons folks have “teamed” with Pump Audio, a commercial music licensing firm, to “promote their respective licensing programs to their respective clients.”
  • Google added a feature to Gmail over the weekend which lets you check other POP3 mail accounts via the GMail interface. The new service, Mail Fetcher, may not make GMail perfect, but it's a welcome addition for those of us with multiple email addresses to check.
