I saw a young Palestinian man on C-SPAN last week giving a slide presentation about life in Gaza. He described the use of a weapon that made people want to tear off their skin that the emergency room doctors could not identify. I think this Goodbye Weapon may be what was used.

How about mobiles that are just phones: no camera, no internet, no messaging, etc. Just a rugged phone that does the one job with no waste of money or quality. Too many simple phones seem to aim for the Cavalier market, hoping you'll upgrade to a Corvette. There is a market for these phones – just ask your readers.

Interesting article about science fiction. I was hoping you'd mention Joss Whedon's Firefly and Serenity. Firefly was a brilliant TV show that was canceled due to low ratings, and the follow-up movie Serenity did ho-hum at the box office. Yet Firefly was the smartest sci-fi on television, ever. Why didn't it succeed? I was hoping you knew the answer.
