Despite the near-ubiquity of smartphones, PDAs and Outlook calendars these days, plenty of people still prefer to preserve their appointments and contacts on sturdy paper bound inside fine lambskin.

Letts sales continues to grow at a steady 5 percent a year, and the CEO of the 209-year-old company is confident that a select group of business folk will continue to value style and tradition over electronic convenience. But the company isn't averse to hedging its bets, either: Letts now sells software for turning Outlook entries into nicely printed Filofax pages.
