Thank you for the thoughtful article on the "New Atheism." Too often,
mainstream magazines devote most of the article to mythologicalpositions and relegate atheists to a sidebar. At least your articleacknowledges that all of the evidence weighs in favor of science andreason, without one iota supporting Christianity or other mythologies.
However, I was left surprised by the ending, wherein the author refusedto subscribe to atheism. From the article, it appears that he doesn'tdo so because atheism doesn't offer the visceral entertainmentexperience of evangelical Christianity. Whatever happened to coming toone's one conclusions through reason and looking inward? If the authorwishes to be entertained, I'm certain there are many "fishers of souls"
eager to add a new sheep to their flock.
