Put simply, folks like Dawkins, Harris, Dennett are right, and also partial. Their arguments are based on a form of culturally informed scientific reductionism. I'm not able to articulate the depth of expression required to confront those who stand as the believers found within "The Church of the Non-Believers". However, Ken Wilber is someone who is. For the last 36 years Wilber has been demonstrating the connection between science and religion, and the absolute need for religion. In his latest book "Integral Spirituality", Wilber expresses very clearly the need for a redefintion of religion in this millenium. He also stresses that the baby of faith must not be thrown out with the superfluous bath water of pre-modern metaphysics, for religion is a meaning-making glue that provides substantially more holding power than any scientific epoxy. If you need more to contemplate, also see Wilber's "Marriage of Sense and Soul".
