Atheists that attack the supernatural in the name of „logic and science are not „new. The Dawkins-style pigheadedness on all sides of the debate has also been a constant plague.
Wolf's story gave meager attention to the positive case for the supernatural. I would recommend the works of Oxford Prof. Richard Swinburne, Alvin Plantinga, and William Lane Craig to offset this. I would also recommend reading the recent Dawkins / Quinn debate (see darwiniana.com/2006/10/28/dawkinsquinn-radio-debate).
Wolf's article ends well by telling us to have „respectful conversations with opposing views, based upon knowing „there‚s always a chance we could turn out to be wrong. That‚s solid advice for all of us. Such a combination of reason, humility, and an open mind may not be „new, but it would be rare.
