I am not intellectual enough to argue with the scientific "new atheists," but I am a witness to what faith in Jesus (and his resurrection) really means. Faith is not a curse, but a blessing to its neighbors and is the foundation of a "civil" society. True faith is passed on to children by example, not brainwashing indoctrination. Healing faith breaks the cycle of violence by forgiving the murderer, or showing compassionate forgiveness to the suicidal murderer's family in the aftermath. A community of faith spreads truth and justice and builds a witness to the reason for this faith.
Faith is not a belief system or religion. True faith gives life meaning. What point is there to, as Steve Olsen states, "live wonderfully and meaningfully" if the pinnacle of life is death?
