Planned Parenthood health centers across the country will offer freeemergency contraception (EC) in their communities today. Clinics willgive away the so-called morning after pill, or Plan B, to both men andwomen at no cost, while supplies last.

The pill will be available to women and men of all ages, in mostlocations. The pill is only FDA approved as an over-the-countermedication to women aged 18 and older, but Planned Parenthood clinicsare health centers that are staffed by doctors, so women under 17 willhave free access to the medical examinations and prescriptions theyneed to legally obtain the pill.

But please, folks. Remember that birth control is not going to offer any protection against STIs. And that Plan B isn't a comfortable experience – cramps, nausea, etc. – so it's still better to take preventitive measures than rely on a pill that's designed for "uh-oh" in the morning.
