Christmas is getting close, and standard shipping gets ropey around the 15th: today might be the last day you can be sure of getting prompt delivery without forking out for expedited shipping. Here's a few last hour (if not last minute) deals.
Techbargains has a code that should get you 20% off at Wilson's leather until Saturday -- Wilsons has some excellent leather satchels (pictured) into which the 15" Mac Book Pro fits perfectly, and they were all on crash sale already last time I checked in. They also have a code to nab the Dell Inspiron B130 notebook for $500, good right up until Dec. 21.
I'm frugal with storage, the kind to back up movies to DVD and keep HD space free. Tempted as I am by Microcenter's 500GB SATA hard drive for $210, I'm not even sure my closet server's mobo has a SATA header to plug it into. If I wasn't planning to replace it with a Mac Mini and some external drives, I might consider a cheap new mobo over at Newegg -- starting at about $25 for the basic models.
