As a few of my readers have pointed out, authorities in Oregon today located the body of former CNet Editor James Kim. Kim, his wife Kati and daughters Penelope and Sabine went missing last week. Though Kati and the girls were rescued Monday, James had set off in search of help two days prior and didn't survive in the cold. My colleague Eliot Van Buskirk wrote a fond remembrance of James for the front page today.
It's a very sad day for a lot of people out here. I didn't know James, but I knew his work, and I know a lot of people who knew him or know Kati. If you wish to make a donation to the family, their friends have set up a fund at Jamesandkati.com, and CNet has offered to receive and store care packages for Kati and the girls.
