I'm excited about The Host, a hit Korean giant monster movie full of huge tentacles, sharp teeth, and cute K-pop kids. It features a massive underwater creature who comes to land and starts eating and smooshing people. Apparently the aggressive amphibian is the host of some kind of virus, which is an interesting twist on the usual "it's a mutant" rationalization. Of course, one average guy has to save his daughter from the creature's slimy clutches. Coming to the West in March, the flick sounds as fun as a Godzilla movie. Plus it's proof that Korea is overtaking Japan in every area – including giant monsters! Universal has already snapped up the remake rights.
