You know, there's good news, there's great news, and there is greatest news. And then somedays, you encounter what can only be described with a Colbertian adjective like "Greatacularest." That news came today. Repeat after me:
USING ZUNE WITH VISTA IS NOT SUPPORTED!
Again:
USING ZUNE WITH VISTA IS NOT SUPPORTED!
You can't make that up. Microsoft's two most important products of the last five years don't work with each other. Apple gets slammed all the time for eliminating backward compatibility with specific computers as it rolls out new versions of OS X or the iPod. But who on earth doesn't make a brand new product FORWARD COMPATIBLE?
Oh, right. Microsoft. Can you imagine if Apple were to bring out the long-lusted after iPhone and announced it only worked with PowerPC Macs and was broken on Leopard? They'd be laughed out of the business. Here's your next big iPod ad, Apple: "iPod. It already works with Vista. Unlike Microsoft's own player."
Quoth MS: "Windows Vista is not supported at this time. Check back soon for updates."
In the words of GOB Bluth: "COME ON! COO CA COO CA COO!" Welcome to the Social, guys. Welcome to the Social.
FYI: I know I'm overplaying it, and Zune and Vista probably work fine, and nothing is supported on Vista until the final version ships. Do I care? This called for truthiness.

Thanks, Victor!
