Gay Sex Breaks Out on Mythbusters

LiveJournal is ground zero of the slash fiction revolution. Apparently even LJ founder Brad Fitzpatrick has been known to read a little slash once in a while. But I doubt he's reading slash about real-life gearheads Tory and Grant from Discovery Channel's gonzo mechanical engineering show Mythbusters. Oh yes, there is an entire LJ community devoted to slashing those brainy babes who blow things up in the name of science. Here's a sample:

Damn, Tory thought. Grant looked good today. The gentle Orientalwas wearing a black T-shirt – as they all did nearly every day atMythbusters – and talking with some producer’s daughter. Tory wanted toleap over and run his fingers through Grant’s hair, but the producer’sdaughter was all of seven, and she might not understand the emotionsTory felt for his coworker.

Oh boy – where to begin? With the porno-racist phrase "gentle Oriental"? What about the amazing eye for detail required to make the observation that everyone on Mythbusters wears black t-shirts "nearly every day"? I don't know about you, but I think Tory/Grant slash may be almost as great as the rash of Esther Dyson/Marc Andreessen slash that broke out a couple of years ago. Remember that great Esther/Marc story where Esther told Marc his business model was really robust, and he told her that her observations about the tech industry were intensely penetrating? I thought my monitor was going to light on fire.
