God and ScienceThe aetheist claim that science does not support the concept of God isdebatable. Here are 4 examples.
1. In the 1950s, there were 2 main theories of the universe, the Big Bangand The Steady State theories. The Steady State theory said the Universealways was and always will be. A Creator was not necessary. Science provedthis wrong.
2. Later, there were 2 versions of the Big Bang. If the mass and forceswere right, then the expansion would stop, and contraction would begin,
leading to another Big Bang. If the universe underwent an infinite number ofexpansions and collapses, a Creator was not necessary. Science proved thiswrong.
3. Today we know that the forces and mass of our universe are delicatelybalanced. If there were changes of even 1 part in a trillion in either, wewould not be here. This is only possible if we were created by an infiniteor near infinite God or if there were an infinite or near infinite number ofuniverses. Which theory is more reasonable?
4. Galileo is considered the father of modern science, which means thatscience is about 400 years old. What will science be like 4000 years fromnow? One trend in science is pretty clear and is summed up by the phrase,
“Science playing God.” Will science have a near infinite knowledge andpower? Will there be immortality? Will science create life? How about a bigbang? If 4000 years of science is not enough, add a million years.
